Cleaner Car Rebate (CCR) |
The program is targeted at assisting Australian manufacturers improve their production processes, reduce their energy use and cut carbon emissions. |
The Cleaner Car Rebate scheme was announced by the Prime Minister in July 2010 to provide a $2,000 rebate to new car purchasers who scrap their pre-1995 passenger vehicle and purchase an eligible new, low emission, fuel efficient passenger vehicle.
On 27 January 2011, the Prime Minister announced the government will not proceed with the Cleaner Car Rebate scheme as part of saving measures to support the rebuilding of flood affected areas across Australia. |
