My name is Nicholas Grzegorczyn, I'm the CEO of Gasco. Gasco is an innovative combustion and process engineering company which specialises in heat transfer.
The Australian Government has been an enormous support, they're like a partner in our business. Once they realise that companies like Gasco have got some sort of leading edge where we're not only an engineering company, that we fabricate as well, they actually come out here and support and work with us.
They are very helpful. They know their markets and they really help Gasco, so that's why we argue that they are partners in our business.
The key motivation for Gasco to apply for the support was export. We believe export is the key to the future of Australia and Gasco.
We have utilised the services of AusIndustry through Tradex. Tradex has enabled us to reduce our duties to enable us to win a major export project in the Middle East.
The Government assistance has helped us develop software to enable us to tender on projects whereby we may only have one competitor due to the difficulty of the task at hand.
I recollect meeting a large South-East Asian oil and gas company which later we actually won that project and it involved a lot of innovation whereby each piece of this equipment could not be any larger than 25 tonnes, so that involved all our in-house software.
When we tender, it's like being in an Olympic game, so we're actually representing Australia
versus the key suppliers throughout the world. And we think this is a great benefit, not only to Gasco, but to the Australian name.
